Citizen's Advisory Committee

A Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) was established to provide a local forum for local citizens, businesses and organizations to provide input and advice to reserve staff regarding operation and management issues relating to the Grand Bay NERR. The CAC consists of representatives of local government, business, environmental organizations, adjacent landowners, inholders and other traditional resource user groups. The CAC meets at least annually or as called by the reserve manager. The president of the CAC serves as a member of the RMB. The RMB coordinates the activities of the CAC. Roles and responsibilities of this committee include, but are not limited to:

  • providing input regarding research, monitoring and educational priorities;
  • representing the interests of the local communities, industries and businesses, and the general public regarding the use of the reserve; and
  • serving as a liaison with the general public on reserve activities.
